| 2009 Ducati Streetfighter | | The 2009 Ducati Streetfighter is an all-new bike with elements from the 1198 and 1098, altered to fit the personality of the naked sportbike. The Ducati Streetfighter provides superbike performance in a compact, agile motorcycle. Powering the motorcycle, a 1099cc engine produces 155hp and 85lb-ft at 9,500 rpm. Comfort as well as control is enhanced by a decreased seat-to-handlebar distance and an increased seat-to-footpeg distance compared to that of the 1198; the forward riding position is not as extreme as a superbike, but allows greater feel and control than a cruiser. |
| | Engine | 1099cc, L-Twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder Desmodromic, liquid cooled | | Horsepower | 155hp - 114kw @ 9500rpm | | Torque | 85lb-ft 115Nm @ 9500rpm |

| 2009 Ducati Desmosedici RR | | The 2009 Ducati Desmosedici RR can be summed up quite simply; raw power and brute force combined with agility and balance. These qualities come from the heritage of the Ducati Corse Grand Prix Desmosedici GP9 that competed in the 2006 MotoGP World Championship. The D16RR engine follows the same guidelines as the Corse Grand Prix D16GP9. The 989cc engine produces 200 horsepower at 13,800 rpm, mostly due to details such as the desmodromic timing system, titanium engine components, and a compression ratio of 13.5. A Magneti Marelli 5SM ECU control unit and high-speed CAN line send fuel through 12-hole injectors and control the ignition of the four-cylinder engine. |

Ducati 1098| 2009 Ducati 1098 R | | The 2009 Ducati 1098 R is a true race bike; it is the bike that powered Troy Bayliss to World Superbike victory in its first year. Starting with the engine, the 1198.4cc power plant makes 180 horses available to the rider, that’s ten more horsepower than the new 1198 S. When using the supplied race kit the 1098 R makes 186 horsepower. The kit is ‘intended’ for track use only, and I use the word “intended” loosely, because I know that probably won’t be the case. The valve train utilizes mechanical valve operation called the Desmodromic System, which manually closes the valve, enabling a steeper cam profile and greater performance at higher rpm. A slipper clutch keeps the power at the wheels manageable and stabilizes harsh downshifts. Changes to the ‘R’ version include traction control, carbon fiber cam belt covers, magnesium alloy cam covers, and titanium rods and valve. |
